DS&A Regional Support Coordination Managers – Important Members of a Participant’s Support Team

At Disability Services & Advocacy, LLC we have created a unique position called a Regional Support Coordination Manager who is a critical member of the Support Coordination team supporting every participant we serve. Each participant and family member supporting them should know their DS&A Support Coordination Manager, because they can be a valuable member of the planning team in identifying services, providers and how to effectively navigate the complex DDD system. 

Our Regional Support Coordination Managers’ have one core mission: To provide ongoing training to their SC’s, provide guidance and answers to their questions, provide managerial oversight, attend consumer meetings when needed, provide back-up when Support Coordinators become ill or are on vacation, and to provide, as needed, daily support to each one of their Support Coordinators and participants and guardians they serve. Unlike Supervisors they do not approve plans, instead their focus is on developing their staff to become outstanding Support Coordinators.

Our Support Coordination Managers’ were promoted because they have an excellent understanding of the DDD system. They also have the interpersonal skills to motivate their SC’s and bring people together as a team in helping participants, their families and providers improve the lives of their love ones with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
