Definitions from the DHS/DDD
· Walkaway – “refers to the act of an individual who leaves the premises without authorization who may be considered dangerous to self or others or is otherwise at risk. May require law enforcement notification when the individual cannot be located on campus or after an initial search of the premises.”
· Elopement – “refers to the act of an individual with legal status leaving the premises without authorization.”
